Volunteers
Why should I volunteer?
As a member of Engineers Ireland, you can make a real difference. Sharing your time and expertise with the largest representative association for engineers in Ireland gives you unique opportunities to interact with other outstanding individuals - and expand your own capabilities.
Whether you are a student, recently qualified, long-standing or a retired member, there are countless opportunities for you to volunteer. And the commitment from you can be as little or as much as you are prepared and able to give.
New to volunteering?
Don't worry. We provide training and support for all our dedicated volunteers.
What can I do?
- Attend network committee meetings and share your ideas about topics, speakers, venues and target audiences
- Help organise and promote events for your local network
- Deliver a talk on your area of expertise to the members of your network
- Contribute to government consultations on topics such as "Roads and Transportation in 2010" and "Climate Change"
- Promote our activities in schools and universities through the STEPS to engineering "Champions Programme"
- Submit research papers and review papers in your area of expertise
- Write articles for the Engineers Journal
- Write your network's community blog
- Gather media and contact information
Who should I talk to?
We provide open, friendly and effective communications service for all our dedicated volunteers. Share your interests, experience, and relevant expertise - we would love to hear from you.
