There are many routes to membership, and we consider every applicant individually.
We want to be open to every member of the engineering profession, so we consider both your qualifications and work experience.

How do I join?
It’s easy – there are three simple steps:
- Apply online or complete the relevant application form for your grade
- We verify your qualifications
- You pay an annual subscription fee
Monthly application deadlines
Applications are considered at monthly meetings of the membership and qualifications board. The deadline for applications usually falls up to a week before each meeting.

Please note that applications made through an alternative route must be received two weeks before the board meeting date in order to be considered.
How much does it cost?
View our subscription fees for all grades of membership.
You can pay:
- Online
- Over the phone by debit or credit card
- By cheque or postal order
Apply for a title
As your education and career develops, you can apply for a new grade of membership or apply for a new professional title.

Renew or reinstate your membership
Need to renew membersip or have it reinstated? Simply pay the relevant subscription fee to enjoy all the benefits of membership again.
